
The “Mahakal Lok” corridor, the initial phase of the Mahakaleshwar Temple corridor construction project, is dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Ujjain Mahakal Lok corridor after launching the project. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan accompanied him.
After officially launching the project, PM Modi addressed the crowd and declared that Ujjain is a city where holy energy is being transported everywhere and that spirituality is present in every particle. For millennia, Ujjain has served as the epicentre of Indian affluence, learning, honour, and literature.
According to PM Modi, innovation requires remodelling. India is rebuilding what was destroyed during the era of slavery. India is remodelling it and bringing it back to greatness.
The prime minister continued, “During the Azadi Ka AmritKaal, we freed ourselves from colonialism’s bonds.” Today, progress is being seen everywhere throughout India’s cultural hotspots. All-weather roads are now being built to link the Char Dhams.
Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Development Project has been completed

Today at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the first phase of the “Mahakal Lok” corridor (October 11). At a cost of 316 crore rupees, the first phase of the Rs 856 crore Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Development Project has been completed. After completion, the mega corridor project would increase the area of the Mahakaleshwar temple complex from 2.87 hectares to 47 hectares, greatly increasing the holding capacity. The estimated cost of the total renovation plan is Rs 705 crore.
What makes the “Mahakal Lok Corridor” so unique?According to reports, the Mahakal Lok will have two imposing entrances, a towering colonnade of 108 elaborate pillars made of deftly carved sandstone, flowing fountains, and a running panel of more than 50 murals illustrating Shiv Puran tales. The 108 stambhs (pillars) along the Mahakal Path show Lord Shiva’s Anand Tandav Swaroop, his ecstatic dancing form. Along the route, there are numerous religious sculptures built that depict Lord Shiva’s life.
What makes the “Mahakal Lok Corridor” so unique?

The Skanda Purana makes reference to the historic Rudrasagar Lake, which is encircled by the Mahakal Path. The lake was filling up with water hyacinth, which was also becoming a repository for sewer waste. It has been revitalised, brought back from obscurity, and repaired thanks to the Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Development Project.
It has been reported that Ashish Pathak, CEO of Ujjain Smart City, said that the initiative “takes forward the objective of making Ujjain the central node for promoting religious tourism to connect people with culture and customs. Many religious cities will be inspired to scale up and learn from this experience by the project’s magnitude and scope, which is an accomplishment for Smart City Mission.

According to PM Modi, Ujjain has been the centre of Indian prosperity and learning for thousands of years. The Prime Minister remarked, “Mahakal Lok” (corridor), which is 900 metres long, was inaugurated today “Every element is spiritual, and holy energy is being conveyed throughout the entire city of Ujjain. For millennia, Ujjain has served as the epicentre of Indian affluence, learning, honour, and literature.”

In the Madhya Pradesh city of Ujjain, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the first phase of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Development Project. The 900-meter-long “Mahakal Lok” corridor is expected to cost roughly Rs. 856 crore, with the first phase being constructed for Rs. 351 crore. 200 statues and murals of Lord Shiva and goddess Shakti, as well as 108 beautifully adorned pillars depicting the Anand Tandav Swaroop (Lord Shiva’s dance form), can be seen in the “Mahakal Lok.”
